The rapper is also known by the names Mr. Capalot, and Polo Capalot. The ace Chicago Illinois rapper gained attention when he started uploading tracks on YouTube. The first tracks he released were including never Cared as well as The Come Up. Then he made his debut on SoundCloud with the release of his mixtape, Official POLO.G SoundCloud. Gang With Me, his debut single, was quickly followed by the hit song The Finer Things. The latter was written by him while in jail. The song became his first hit and it racked up million of YouTube views, bringing his name to the front. In the following days, major record companies started showing interest in his work. Pop Out, featuring Lil Tjay, was finally released after the rapper signed a Columbia Records distribution agreement. It reached the 22 position on Billboard Hot 100 and received millions of YouTube views. This was the first song to chart for the artist. Polo G was a YouTube sensation and gained a good amount of popularity through other social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
